Technology with unlimited possibilities

Quantum computing is a rapidly emerging technology. It uses the theory behind quantum physics to perform complex calculations at speeds of magnitudes faster than today’s most advanced supercomputers. This has almost limitless potential for any field of work involving the analysis, modelling and simulation of data. The chips of quantum computers must be kept close to a temperature of absolute zero, which is ten millikelvin or -273.14 degree Celsius. Bluefors is one of the leading manufacturers of cryogenic cooling measurement systems for these computers and we’ve been providing customised connectivity for its dilution refrigerators since 2021.

Engineering excellence at ultra-low temperatures

Our ability to meet the technical challenges of the quantum computing environment draws on our long experience with cryogenic applications in the space industry, where components have to be compact, allow efficient installation and perform at extreme temperatures. Space matters within dilution refrigeration too, which is why Bluefors uses our high density, MXP multicoax interconnect solution. The MXP assemblies enable flawless signal transmission into the fridge, down to where the magic happens, and back to the quantum controller at room temperature.

Ready for the quantum revolution

With numerous cryogenic systems installed in research labs and quantum computing facilities worldwide, Bluefors has become a leader in this field. Every day, its technology helps accelerate groundbreaking work such as the development of new medicines, better cybersecurity, traffic and logistics optimisation, advances in material science and the study of climate change. We’re now working with Bluefors to develop interconnect solutions that match the requirements of next generation cryogenic quantum applications. With global leaders such as Amazon, Google, IBM and Microsoft all investing heavily in quantum computing, the quantum revolution is set to be a promising growth area for our Industry market segment.
